The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) was established in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. UIW is the largest Catholic university in Texas and the fourth-largest faith-based private university in the state. The school houses nine colleges and schools that offer more than 100 majors.

UIW is home to the School of Media and Design, which houses the Juren Sullivan Center for Fashion Management (FMGT). The Fashion Management program at UIW offers industry-driven, professional degrees designed to prepare students for career opportunities available in the fashion industry including: fashion production, fashion retailing, design, and brand, sales force, and product sales management.
