Colorado State University's admission requirements:
The merchandising and product development concentrations have the same requirements as entry into Colorado State University.
In addition to entry into Colorado State University, the apparel design and production concentration requires a GPA of 2.5 and a portfolio review at the end of the spring semester to select the 25 students who will continue the program.
Colorado State University's career placement services:
Students may enroll in internship credits one to two semesters prior to graduation and in the pre-internship course during their third year in the major. Student internship placement with businesses and organizations in national and international settings is designed to facilitate the depth and integration of knowledge in the study of apparel and merchandising and to enhance professional development and career opportunities. Students with a 2.500 GPA are eligible to participate in department-facilitated internships. Past interns have worked at major national retail chains and apparel manufacturers, in advertising and promotion companies, and in publication firms in various locations across the US including Denver, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas. Apparel and Merchandising students can also take advantage of Colorado State University’s study abroad program, which offers semester long programs in Italy, France, Spain, and Great Britain.
