Best Fashion Programs in North Carolina

August 14, 2013 written by FS Staff

North Carolina

The fashion industry in the U.S. is growing and so is the demand for top talent. To meet this demand, traditional colleges and universities as well as many art and design schools now offer competitive fashion training programs. Some of these schools may offer a Diploma or A.A.S. degree, while others may offer a variety of advanced degrees. The number & quality of program offerings is just one factor that helps college ranking agencies determine which schools are the best of the best.

Each year, some of the country’s top college ranking agencies, education organizations, and publications (such as Princeton Review, U.S. News & World Report, and Forbes) determine which schools deserve a spot on the “Best Schools” list. To land a spot on the list, schools must also score high in the areas of peer assessment, financial resources, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, and student selectivity.

The state of North Carolina is home to 139 Title IV degree-granting universities. Many of these schools are listed among the “Best” schools in the region and they offer some of the country’s most popular fashion programs. A significant number of these schools are located in major cities such as Charlotte and Durham, but we also found several excellent options in smaller cities and towns such as Mars Hill and Boone.

Just a few of North Carolina’s best fashion school programs can be found at
Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina Central University in Durham, and East Carolina University in Greenville.
