London Fashion Schools
What's Hot In London? This marvelous city is home to the newest and most exciting developments in business, design and the arts. London is a truly stimulating, cosmopolitan environment that puts an incredible wealth of history and culture right on your doorstep. The theater district, known as the West End, has long been considered the finest in the world, boasting over fifty theaters offering top quality and diverse productions. London is home as well to some of the best repertory theater, opera and ballet companies. The city also attracts internationally acclaimed musicians at its world-class concert halls, such as: Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and Wigmore Hall. The West End is also home to Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square with its imposing Nelson's column, lions and fountains, and, of course, Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace; Westminster, the seat of power, where you'll find The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the Westminster's Abbey and Cathedral; and Whitehall, which is the seat of Government.
Fashion students should also find plenty of inspiration from other parts of London. For example, the East End has a vibrant artistic scene, one of London's hippest districts with contemporary bars, restaurants, shops and markets. Knightsbridge and South Kensington in the west are among London's most prestigious areas with elegant, expensive houses, hotels, restaurants and shops: Harrods, Harvey Nichols and the designer boutiques along Sloane Street. Notting Hill in west London is famous for its annual August carnival--a riot of color and rhythm--plus many new fashionable bars, restaurants and the popular PorTobéllo Road antique shops and market. Soho is home to Carnaby Street--the 60's center of fashion and a great cosmopolitan selection of restaurants, bars, clubs and other nightlife.
Another plus is that with the high-speed Channel Tunnel rail link, Paris and the treasures of Europe are only a few hours away.
