Georgia

Georgia is a land rooted in history but powered by innovation, where its rich heritage meets contemporary lifestyles on a daily basis. From folk art to fantasy conventions, from James Oglethorpe to James Brown, from Ellijay’s apples to Vidalia’s onions, you’ll find that Georgia has something to capture your imagination.

Georgia boasts a rich selection of museums, including such renowned collections as the Telfair Museum of Art, the Tubman African-American Museum, and the High Museum of Art. The independent gallery scene is equally impressive. Atlanta is arguably the artistic capital of the Southeast; the famous Bennett Street and Miami Circle areas alone include more than fifty galleries and antique shops. In addition to scores of popular music venues, Atlanta also boasts the Woodruff Arts Center, the largest arts organization in the Southeast and home to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The Alliance Theater and the 14th Street Playhouse.

Cap all of Georgia’s history and culture with a wonderfully temperate climate that provides an abundance of opportunities for outdoor sports activities almost all-year round. Perhaps the most well-known local event – Golf’s Masters – are held yearly at the Augusta National Golf Club. Georgia also boasts the largest membership of active tennis players in the U. S.
