The Fashion Merchandising program at Sam Houston State University combines
business operations management with a solid basis in apparel knowledge. Students
learn to work collaboratively as part of a product development team as they create
a trend board and collection board, then work on the patternmaking process of an
apparel item from that collection. Fashion majors are required to complete a four-
course business core to better prepare them for careers in the industry.
